LOVE this museum. It’s one of those places you can go alone, with friends, with family, on a date, with whoever. It might be a tad cliche since it’s seen in half the shows about NY and it’s probably top 10 on tourists’ to-do lists but I love that whenever I come here it’s so massive and there’s so much to do and see. That might seem like the last place someone wants to be, but for me it’s relaxing. It makes me realize that there’s so much more out there than whatever I’m doing with my life. It puts things in perspective. All of the artists painted, sculpted, photographed etc. for a specific reason or purpose yet we may never know exactly what was going on in the artists’ head during the creation of each work. We all have certain intentions with each action or word spoken and whether things turn out as we plan them to, some people will understand the motives and others may never know. I guess that’s one aspect of art that I love, it can all be analyzed and perceived 10 different ways, just like people.
Oh, and did I mention it’s FREE? WIN.
